My Birthday was last weekend...yes, 21 again! Celebrations began early when I caught up with my mum and dad a few days before in Palm Beach, where a visit to The Boathouse for cake and coffee was obligitory!
We had a busy weekend planned catching up with some other "Birthday buddies" who have Birthdays around mine, so Taylor was given the opportunity to test out her baking skills and create some amazing 'naked cakes' which were thoroughly delicious...(and calorie free of course)
Did I mention how spoilt I was!!!! Some wonderful cards, gift and flowers....a sneaky lunch just with hubby and then dinner with the family at a favourite local restaurant in Manly Garfish then home for yes you guessed it MORE cake x
So that is it for another year...time to start thinking Christmas...eek did someone mention there are only 7 weeks until the jolly fat man appears!!!!!!
Seems the past month has gone by in a flurry of Birthdays and celebrations....the crafting supplies have been out in force.
Most of Lilly's friends are turning 18 and although the "group present" is still popular, I think turning 18 is worth a special card as well.
Ah yes as you can see I am STILL loving my doily stash....
I came across a heap of photos the other day that I had printed but not used in an album...they have been coming in very handy for my card making...this pretty photo was taken in the Cairns Botanical Gardens way back when we lived In Cairns...seems like a lifetime ago now, still makes me smile and remember x
And this one from our Europe holiday....Venice is STILL one of my favourite destinations!
I think that is almost ALL the cards for the year...must be time to start crafting my Christmas cards.....I think I read somewhere only 9 weeks 'til Christmas...eeek!!!
The lavender in our garden has been especially beautiful this year....
I seem to be constantly battling with the local bee community to pick bunches for friends and arrangements for home.
Everyone knows how much I love fresh flowers in my home so these past few weeks have been a real treat for me.
I delivered a bunch to a friend who was delighted but instead of putting them in a vase like I expected she put them on the window sill to dry out explaining that her hubby, once the lavender was dried would put them into sugar to flavour it...hmmmm...got me thinking what to do with all this lavender...
Here are a few FABULOUS FINDS indeed...
Fancy some lavender bath salts in your next hot bath, or perhaps a scented candle to enjoy whilst you bite into a delicious shortbread cookie (lavender flavoured of course) or enjoy a favourite drink with a lavender ice cube....????
Some ideas perhaps for the wedding I am helping a friend plan....yummo lavender ice cream would be a treat...and I love these soaps, what a pretty hostess gift they would make...ahh so many choices where does one get started, looks like I am off to battle the local bee community again!
This time last week we were celebrating the end of Lilly's school...hard to believe that 'our baby' has graduated from high school.
It was a busy few days with graduating assemblies, a beautiful church service followed by Year 12 Presentation evening (where Lilly sang the most beautiful song with her close friend...not a dry eye in the house)...
The next morning I mad a mad dash to the Sydney Flower Market (my happy place) to get lots of beautiful spring blooms...time to get ready for the Year 12 Cocktail Evening that I had spent a few months planning with a lovely group of mums! We wanted the opportunity to celebrate the 'end of an era' with our daughters, make them feel a little special and also thank the teachers for all their hard work and dedication. We transformed a 'space' in the school with flowers, candles and balloons...time to celebrate the CLASS OF 2016!
We booked a photographer who captured so many wonderful memories for the girls, here are a few of my favourites...
Now, study beckons but before long all Lilly's hard work will have paid off, her HSC exams will be over and a new chapter will have begun.
CONGRATULATIONS to the CLASS OF 2016...the world awaits!
